Jobscene - terms and conditions

1. Overview

1.1. Jobscene is a web page on the PAM-Lingua website which is a forum through which employers/businesses can find language professionals by placing their advertisement free of charge with us. PAM-Lingua reserves the right to amend the conditions for placement at any time including the requirement to apply advertising charges where there is work required to present advertising professionally.

1.2 Jobscene also enables PAM-Lingua members to post information concerning themselves on the page which advertises their skills or services which may be of use to a prospective employer or client in the case of self-employed members.

1.3 PAM-Lingua does not warrant any of the material on this page and may not be held liable for any abuse or inaccuracy that may arise from placing or using information here.

1.4 The email address which may be used for all correspondence with the PAM-Lingua board responsible for operating the jobscene page is jobscene @ pam-lingua.org

 

2. Jobs and projects requiring people

2.1 Jobs or projects which may be relevant to PAM-Lingua members as employees or as contractors can be advertsied on the jobscene page. Providers of job/project advertising do not have to be members of PAM-Lingua.

2.2 Job/Project details - We recommend that basic details of the job or project are provided with a contact or web page where prospective applicants can obtain more information or submit and application.

2.3 Text advertisements should contain no more than 150 words. Advertisements will be kept online for up to one month from the appearance date or the closing date for applications.

2.4 Pre-designed advertisements (display advertisements) can be submitted and will be allocated space on an as available basis witin the page but not necessarily within the table containing text based advertising. PAM-Lingua reserves the right to re-size any display advertising and charge for any work done to achieve a professional result to enable effective presentation.

2.5 All advertisements will be vetted for content and legality though PAM-Lingua cannot be held responsible for any abuse of content or consequences of acting upon advertising content by any visitor to the jobscene page.

2.6 Please note that PAM-Lingua has not necessarily made any detailed working conditions review concerning the opportunities advertised in jobscene. We call the reader’s attention to the advice for employees provided online at www.sak.fi/en/working-life/ground-rules-working (which we assisted in drafting), and we remain willing to review the individual written employment contract of anyone working in our industry. Join your union!

2.7 Date of placement - this will be shown when the advertisement is placed on the page and launched on the website.

2.8 Adverts will show on the basis of latest inclusions at the top of the section.

2.9 Complaints - in the event that any reader of jobscene wishes to raise a complaint about an advertisement or advertiser with good cause then the complaint should be made in writing to jobscene@pam-lingua.org giving full details of the complaint. The board of PAM-Lingua will make the final decision on action to be taken in response to complaints.

 

3. PAM-Lingua members available for employment or project work

3.1 Only members and officials of PAM-Lingua will be able to advertise their services on the jobscene page. Relevant potential advertisers who are not PAM-Lingua members are advised to join our union where there are many benefits to be gained.

3.2 Text advertisements should contain no more than 150 words.

3.3 Advertisements should contain details of the member, overview of the services/skills offered and basic contact details to enable prospective employers/clients to request more information. Links to own web pages can be inserted. PAM-Lingua cannot accept responsibility for any abuse of contact or web information entered here.

3.4 All advertisements will be vetted for content and legality though PAM-Lingua cannot be held responsible for any abuse of content or consequences of acting upon advertising content by any visitor to the jobscene page.

3.5 Members advertising their services/availability for employment are responsible for the checking of terms and conditions of any contract offered to them. We call the reader’s attention to the advice for employees provided online at www.sak.fi/en/working-life/ground-rules-working (which we assisted in drafting), and we remain willing to review the individual written employment contract of anyone working in our industry. Join your union! Members may contact PAM-Lingua via the jobscene email address to request specific advice which we will endeavour to give subject to staff availability.

3.6 Members advertising on the page must indicate the languages in which they claim they can work. This is to assist prospective employers or clients in selecting from advertisers with relevant language skills. Advertisers should be prepared to take suitable language proficiency tests to support their claims.

3.7 Complaints - in the event that any reader of jobscene wishes to raise a complaint about an advertisement or advertiser with good cause then the complaint should be made in writing to jobscene@pam-lingua.org giving full details of the complaint. The board of PAM-Lingua will make the final decision on action to be taken in response to complaints.
